Trendy area with landmark hotels and jet-liner city views

The Sunset Strip and West Hollywood encompass a trendy area of modern architecture with jet-liner city views. West Hollywood is an independent city in both legal status and spirit. Bordered by Beverly Hills to the west and the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills to the east and north, West Hollywood is a progressive hub of fashion and culture with a strong LGBTQ+ community. The iconic Sunset Strip running through West Hollywood is packed with an eclectic array of shops, restaurants, clubs, and hotels.

West Hollywood's housing options include Spanish bungalows on quiet residential streets and luxurious residences in boutique hotels along the Sunset Strip. Chateau Marmont and the Sunset Tower Hotel are longtime Sunset Strip landmarks built between the late 1920s and early ‘30s. Long-term residences at both hotels have hosted many celebrity guests. New hotel residences at The Edition and The Pendry offer luxurious, contemporary living spaces with sweeping views across Los Angeles.

People & Lifestyle

Popularly known as WeHo, West Hollywood was incorporated as a city in 1984, but the area’s reputation for being a progressive hub long precedes this. The iconic Chateau Marmont has been featured in countless movies, including La La Land and A Star Is Born. Writers including F. Scott Fitzgerald, Dorothy Parker, Hunter S. Thompson, and Quentin Tarantino have all produced work while staying in the hotel. From the 1960s onward, countless legendary music acts have played gigs and hung out at clubs along the Sunset Strip. The Doors and Led Zeppelin were early trailblazers of a live music scene that later incubated acts such as Mötley Crüe and Guns N’ Roses. This storied corner of Los Angeles remains a hotbed of creativity for the movie, music, and fashion industries.
